In addition to the standard contact details, many irreverent accomplishments are listed on our cards. The tongue-in-cheek concept is a comment on society’s obsession with social media ‘achievements’ (e.g. YouTube Views, Twitter Followers) & professional status (e.g. job-titles, awards). The choice of thick card & faux letterpress technique amplify the first impression.
The aesthetic is a direct reference to text that would appear on a computer monitor. That is the original referential. The designers have taken the type out of its original context and re-appropriated it, creating a sense of hyper-reality. This is all contributing to an overall feeling of simulation and increasing the strength of a supposed simulacrum of visual culture.
